Q: I have another appointment that overlaps the meeting schedule. May I participate in only part of the meeting?
A: Applicants are expected to participate in the entire meeting program. Even accepted, and if it turns out that an applicant cannot participate in the entire program, JSPS may cancel his/her invitation.A: Yes. If selected in Japan, any PhD student at a Japanese university may apply regardless of nationality as the aim of the meeting is to build networks among PhD students studying and doing research within the Asian region. If selected in another Asian country, please contact the secretariat of cooperating institution in that county.
Q: The subjected field is different from my major but I am very interested in the meeting. May I apply?
A: You are eligible if you are able to present a poster in the subjected field and actively engage in the discussions with the lecturers and other participants.
Q: I am able to pay the cost of my own participation in the meeting. May I join in addition to the allotted number of participants?
A: No. One needs to receive official acceptance to participate in the meeting. Due to the facility limitations, the meeting will not be open to the public.A: Yes, but please note that JSPS will cover only expenses related to the meeting. Any additional cost (e.g. lodging beyond the meeting period and transportation) must be covered by yourself.
Q: Can I bring my spouse and/or child(ren)?
A: No. The aim of the meeting is to build networks among the participants. Only those individuals who have been officially accepted may participate in the meeting.
